The BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) marked a significant milestone by hosting a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony with Shin Shin Group and Epyllion Group at its permanent campus in Nishatnagar, Dhaka. This strategic collaboration aims to bridge academic learning with industry practices, fostering innovation, skills development, and career opportunities for BUFT students.
The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Faruque Hassan, Chairman of BUFT’s Board of Trustees and Former President of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), along with Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Pro Vice-Chancellor of BUFT.
Distinguished guests included Ms. Mifrae Mostari, Director of Shin Shin Group; Mr. TIM Zahid Hossain, Adviser for People and Culture at Shin Shin Group; and Mr. Mohammed Showket Iqbal, General Manager of HR, Admin, and Compliance at Epyllion Group.
Speaking at the ceremony, the guests emphasized the importance of industry-academia partnerships in driving the growth and development of Bangladesh’s apparel and textile sector. The collaboration is expected to create pathways for BUFT students to gain hands-on experience, build professional networks, and enhance their career prospects in the competitive global market.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Dr. Alamgir Hossain, Treasurer of BUFT, followed by a group photo session. The event was attended by Deans, the Registrar, Controller of Examinations, Chief Financial Officer, heads of academic and administrative departments, faculty members, officials, and students, making it a momentous occasion in the university’s journey.
