BUFT Strengthens Industry Linkages Through MoUs with Leading Apparel Groups

BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT), in collaboration with its Career Development Center (CDC), has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with Northern Tosrifa Group, AKH Group, and Mithela Group to build closer cooperation between academia and the apparel and textile sector. The MoU signing ceremony took place on 27 January 2026 at the BoT Conference Room of BUFT.

The agreements are designed to foster stronger industry–academic partnerships by promoting practical learning opportunities, joint research initiatives, training programs, internships, and human resource development.

On behalf of BUFT, the MoUs were signed by Mr. Faruque Hassan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT). The ceremony featured speeches by Mr. Muzaffar U. Siddique, Founder Chairman of the BoT; Mr. Nasir Uddin Chowdhury, Founder Member of the BoT; Mr. Mohammed Nasir, Member of the BoT; Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Advisor of BUFT; and Prof. Dr. Md. Alamgir Hossain, Acting Vice-Chancellor of BUFT. Deans, Heads of administrative and academic departments, faculty members, and officers were also present at the event.

Representing Northern Tosrifa Group, the MoU was signed by Ms. Lyra Rizwana Hassan, Chairman of the Group, in the presence of Mr. Mohim Hassan, Managing Director, and Mr. Iqram Hossain Raihan, Head of HR, as witnesses. On behalf of AKH Group, the agreement was signed by Mr. Md. Shamsul Alam, Managing Director, with Ms. Aruna Wijerathne, Chief Human Resource Officer, attending as a witness. The MoU with Mithela Group was signed by Mr. Mahbub Khan Himel, Director of the Group, while Mr. Md. Sakir Hossain, Head of Compliance, HR and Administration, was present as a witness.
