The BUTEX Business Club hosted the Grand Finale of Future Weave 2.0, presented by Cresa Textile Chemicals and powered by Zabir Trending, on 1 March 2026 at Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX), with Knowledge & Innovation Partner Textile Today and Magazine Partner Textile Focus supporting the initiative. The event drew vibrant participation from students across all departments.
Dr. Mohammad Abbas Uddin Shiyak, Assistant Professor of the Department of Dyes and Chemical Engineering (DCE) and Moderator of the club, attended the program as Special Guest of Honor, encouraging the finalists.
The event was further graced by industry leaders Mr. Ibrahim Khalil, Country Manager of Cresa Textile Chemicals, and Mr. K. M. Asadun Noor, National Project Coordinator of SWITCH2CE (UNIDO). Prof. Dr. Md. Ahasan Habib, Dean of the Faculty of Textile Management & Business Studies at BUTEX, was also present.
The competition featured two segments: Case Competition and Quiz Clash; designed to test strategic thinking, creativity, and business insight. From multiple preliminary submissions including a two-page abstract and a one-minute OVC, five finalist teams advanced to present live before the judges.
Demonstrating strategic depth and confident presentation, Team Hattimatim from the ESE Department claimed the Champion title, while Team DUDHBHAT from the TFD Department secured the 1st Runner-Up position. In the Quiz Clash segment, Mahfuz Ahmed (AE-48) outperformed his peers to become Champion, with Suraiya Binte Akbar (TEM-48) and Estiak Al Amin (ESE-48) finishing as Runner-Up and 2nd Runner-Up respectively.
With strong enthusiasm and competitive spirit, Future Weave 2.0 highlighted the rising culture of business excellence and leadership among the youth of BUTEX.
