Desk Report: In the era of the 4th industrial revolution, textile engineers faced challenges that are now a daily task. To sustain the textile and garment industry, the ability of textile engineers should be advanced as well as the platform for information sharing between textile engineers should be improved.

A new association has been formed by the former and current students of Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX) of Rangpur Division, which is now known as the BUTEXian Association of Rangpur Division (BARD).
BUTEXian Association of Rangpur Division (BARD) organized a get-together on 25 March 2023 at the Trust Milonayton, Mohakhali in the capital.
Prof. Dr. Engr. Md Humaun Kabir, the General Secretary of BARD, has stated, “The organization has established extensive connectivity. He emphasized that the organization’s rationale will remain relevant as long as it can facilitate job opportunities, scholarships, internships, and educational assistance.” Additionally, he advised that in order to thrive in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution, individuals should strive to acquire new skills by adapting to new technologies.
The chief guest was Justice M Enayetur Rahim of Appellate Division of Bangladesh Supreme Court along with TED of IEB Chairman Engr. Mohammad Ashad Hossain, Ex-Chairman, TED of IEB Engr. Md. Masudur Rahman, Acting VC, BUTEX, Prof. Dr. Shah Alimuzzaman, Managing Director, Md. Matiar Rahman of Taj knitting Ind. Ltd and many other prominent textile engineers were present.
The programme was presided over by the President of BARD, Mr. Mahbubar Rahaman. He was impressed by the large number of Textile Engineers of the Rangpur Division and agreed to make maximum sacrifices to keep the organization moving forward.
Engr. Mahmudullah Siddique, Head of Quality, Epyllion textile, and the organizing committee said, “ The main objective is to enhance the soft skills of students to support their career paths. This will be accomplished by having senior professionals from reputable industries provide guidance on practical knowledge.” The event was a resounding success, and members left feeling inspired and energized.
The event provided an excellent platform for members to learn from each other, share their knowledge, and connect with like-minded individuals. The BUTEXian Association of Rangpur Division ( BARD) get-together was a valuable experience for its members. It was an opportunity to network, learn, and have fun while celebrating the accomplishments of textile engineering.
The organizing committee has successfully created a platform that enables connectivity and information sharing among Textile Engineers. Engr. Md. Mamunur Nasim Sourov of the organizing committee said, “Our main goal is to bring out leaders from the organization and increase the skills of textile engineers”.
