On July 14th, the Association of Textile Engineers of Bangladesh (ATEB) joined hands with the DWMTEC Career Club and the DWMTEC Research Club to organize an enlightening event called “Campus Collaboration with ATEB.” The event, held at the auditorium of Dr. M A Wazed Miah Textile Engineering College, aimed to foster knowledge sharing and provide valuable insights into the textile industry for aspiring textile engineers.

ATEB, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and supporting Bangladesh’s textile engineering community, partnered with DWMTEC to facilitate an unprecedented interactive session. The seminar aimed to shed light on various aspects of the textile industry, including the current state, future opportunities, technical textiles, entrepreneurship, the textile washing sector, upcoming revolutions in garments, and the overall significance of the textile sector.
The event featured esteemed guests and speakers who played crucial roles in enlightening the students. Engr. Md Abdur Rokib, the Principal of DWMTEC, presided over the seminar, emphasizing the importance of such collaborative efforts in advancing the field of textile engineering. The Chief Co-ordinator of ATEB, Zohir Uddin Mohammad Babor, highlighted the need for unity among textile engineers to drive progress in the industry.
Shahadat Minto, Chairman of PHI TEX & TE EMBROIDERY LTD., also addressed the audience, emphasizing the vital role of textile engineers in the growth and development of Bangladesh’s textile sector. The distinguished guests discussed various areas within the industry, imparting valuable knowledge to the attending students. They further emphasized that all textile students should become members of ATEB, highlighting the benefits and opportunities available through the organization.
The seminar witnessed the enthusiastic participation of approximately 250 students, who eagerly posed questions to the ATEB visitors. The students sought advice on overcoming obstacles to achieve ambitious goals, the key attributes required to embark on an entrepreneurial path, strategies for reducing water usage in textile production, and the importance of recycling within the industry. The ATEB visitors graciously answered these questions, providing valuable insights and inspiring the students.
Moreover, the event paved the way for potential internship opportunities for the participating students. ATEB is developing a comprehensive database of former students, which will enable job seekers and recruiters to connect more efficiently.
“Campus Collaboration with ATEB” proved to be a resounding success, fueling the students’ enthusiasm for the textile industry and empowering them with valuable knowledge and networking opportunities. Through such initiatives, ATEB continues to play a significant role in advancing the field of textile engineering in Bangladesh, fostering growth and excellence in the industry.
