CARE Bangladesh signed MoU with Fakir Apparels Ltd for strengthen women’s leadership, workplace wellbeing, and climate resilience.
Recently CARE Bangladesh and Fakir Apparels Ltd. have signed an MoU recently under the Oporajita Phase II: Just Transition for Women in the RMG Ecosystem. This partnership will strengthen women’s leadership, workplace wellbeing, and climate resilience, ensuring women workers are supported as the RMG sector evolves.
Fakir Apparels shared its commitment to holistic worker sensitization and emphasized involving children and youth in social dialogues, along with strong risk‑mitigation measures. They will appoint an internal focal person and collaborate with the Oporajita team to track and uplift worker outcomes. Oporajita is funded by the H&M Foundation and supported by The Asia Foundation.
The event successfully ended with the signing and exchange of MoU between both parties in the presence of the respective team members including Ram Das,Country Director,Care; Rawnak Jahan, Director Care Bangladesh, Munzarin Zaman,,Director, Fakir Apparels Ltd were present.
CARE Bangladesh is currently working in multiple programmatic areas – Health and Nutrition, Women and Youth Empowerment, Humanitarian and Climate Action, with an aim to work in Food and Agricultural Systems soon. The 2030 country program strategy indicates that with the four impact drivers – gender equal, locally led, market-based approaches, and resilience building, CARE Bangladesh aims to ensure that 15 million people in Bangladesh, especially women and girls, are leading gender equal and resilient lives by 2030.
