As Bangladesh continues its impressive economic growth, focus is increasingly shifting toward key sectors that are vital for sustainable development—namely healthcare, medical technology, food production, and agro-processing. In response to this strategic trend, CEMS-Global USA, a leading multinational exhibition organizer, is set to host a major series of international exhibitions in Dhaka. Taking place from 8 to 10 May 2025 at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB), these events aim to become a dynamic platform for innovation, investment, and global partnership.

The lineup comprises the 16th Meditex Bangladesh 2025 International Expo, the 8th International Healthcare and Medical Tourism Expo 2025, the 8th Food Bangladesh 2025 International Expo, and the high-impact Agro Processing Global Gateway (Exhibition, Seminar, Workshop) – a signature initiative held under the broader umbrella of the 8th Agro Bangladesh 2025 International Expo. This landmark program is being jointly organized by CEMS-Global and the BYETS Project, implemented by Swisscontact and supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of The Netherlands.

The inauguration ceremony of the event was honored by the presence of Mr. Thijs Woudstra as the Guest of Honor and was presided over by Meherun N Islam, President and Group Managing Director of CEMS Global USA and Asia Pacific. Other special guests were Mr. Md. Abul Hashem, President, Bangladesh Agro-Processors’ Association, Ms. Nuria Lopez, Chairperson, European Union Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh, Mr. Mahbub Baset, Chief Operating Officer, Ifad Multi Products Limited, Ms. Ishrat Fatema, Deputy Country Director, Swisscontact.

Each of these exhibitions addresses a crucial pillar of Bangladesh’s development strategy, drawing together international expertise, regional stakeholders, and forward-thinking enterprises under one roof.

At the forefront of this initiative is the 16th edition of Meditex Bangladesh, the country’s flagship medical and healthcare trade exhibition. At a time when Bangladesh is investing heavily in upgrading its healthcare infrastructure and services, Meditex Bangladesh offers a dynamic marketplace for hospital administrators, medical professionals, and government agencies to connect with global suppliers. From diagnostic imaging and surgical instruments to hospital IT systems and medical disposables, the expo showcases cutting-edge technologies designed to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency across the healthcare ecosystem.

Running concurrently is the 8th International Healthcare and Medical Tourism Expo 2025, a platform designed to promote Bangladesh’s growing participation in the global health mobility market. As demand rises for affordable and quality care across borders, this expo spotlights national and international hospitals, specialty treatment centers, wellness retreats, and medical travel facilitators. With medical tourism emerging as a multi-billion-dollar global industry, the exhibition is poised to facilitate cross-border collaborations, particularly for outbound patient care, diagnostics, and post-treatment wellness.

Complementing the health-focused exhibitions is the 8th Food Bangladesh 2025 International Expo, which arrives at a critical juncture for the country’s expanding food processing and packaging industry. With shifting consumer preferences, urbanization, and growing export opportunities, the food sector in Bangladesh is undergoing a transformation. This expo brings together food and beverage manufacturers, packaging innovators, food safety consultants, and cold chain solution providers. It will provide a much-needed space for industry leaders to explore partnerships, introduce new products, and enhance value chain integration – focusing particularly on processed foods, beverages, dairy innovations, and organic exports.

However, perhaps the most forward-looking initiative in this suite of exhibitions is the Agro Processing Global Gateway. This unique exhibition, seminar, and workshop initiative is jointly hosted by CEMS-Global and the BYETS Project, implemented by Swisscontact and funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of The Netherlands. It is a cornerstone of the 8th Agro Bangladesh 2025 International Expo and aims to unlock Bangladesh’s vast, yet underutilized, potential in agro-processing. As the country seeks to move up the agricultural value chain and establish itself as a competitive player in processed agro exports, this initiative is designed to offer both vision and practical pathways.

Through a combination of high-level seminars, and a specialized exhibition, the Agro Processing Global Gateway will address some of the sector’s most pressing challenges and opportunities. Topics will range from export market diversification and SME empowerment to certification standards, investment facilitation, and technologies. The program will also delve into global trends such as sustainable agro-processing, traceability, digital supply chains, and access to finance – crucial elements in enabling small and medium enterprises to scale effectively.

Each of these exhibitions reflects CEMS-Global’s commitment to fostering growth in critical sectors – from advancing healthcare technologies and promoting medical tourism, to enhancing food safety and packaging innovation, and creating export opportunities in agro-processing through knowledge-sharing and B2B networking. These events are not just exhibitions – they are gateways to transformation, built on knowledge exchange, trade facilitation, and international cooperation.

This series of exhibitions is not merely about showcasing products or technologies. It is a comprehensive initiative designed to facilitate trade, encourage policy dialogue, and support the broader goals of economic diversification and inclusive development. With over 200 exhibitors expected from more than 15 countries and visitors anticipated across all shows, the 2025 exhibitions are projected to generate significant business leads, forge international partnerships, and create new growth pathways for Bangladeshi industries.

At a time when the world is rethinking supply chains, reimagining food systems, and reconfiguring healthcare delivery models, these exhibitions by CEMS-Global USA in Bangladesh could not be more timely. They represent an intersection of innovation, investment, and impact – and a step forward in Bangladesh’s journey toward becoming a resilient, diversified, and globally integrated economy.
