In a major move toward sustainability, Coats Bangladesh has inaugurated a 554 KW rooftop solar power facility at its Chattogram factory, marking a significant milestone in its journey toward achieving its 2050 Net Zero goal. This solar installation is designed to generate 1100 MWh of clean energy annually, allowing the Chattogram site to utilize nearly 40% of its power needs from renewable sources during daylight hours.
Additionally, the facility is expected to save 694 Ton CO2 which is equivalent to 60,000 number of trees annually, making a considerable impact on the environment and contributing to Coats Bangladesh’s overall environmental sustainability targets.
This marks a pivotal achievement for Coats, reinforcing its commitment to tackling climate change by integrating renewable energy solutions across its operations.
With the Chattogram facility now online, both the Gazipur and Chattogram sites are harnessing the power of solar energy, further aligning with Coats’ global ambition to lead the industry toward greener manufacturing practices.”
