Cotton, wool, man-made fiber, silk blends, and non-cotton vegetable fiber import declined 7.7 percent compared to July 2019 in U.S

Jason Frank Rothenberg; D105415; 10/15/09; Lion BrandThe Office of Textiles and Apparel reported today that imports of cotton, wool, man-made fiber, silk blends, and non-cotton vegetable fiber textile and apparel products totaled 6,164.4 million square meter equivalents (MSME) in July 2020, a decline of 7.7 percent compared to July 2019. Imports of textiles were 3,964.5 MSME in July 2020, up 2.7 percent from July 2019. Imports of apparel were 2,199.8 MSME in July 2020, down 22.0 percent from July 2019.

Imports of textiles and apparel were 33,010.2 MSME for the year-to-date July 2020, a decline of 17.7 percent from year-to-date July 2019. Imports of textiles were 21,149.4 MSME for the year-to-date July 2020, a decline of 11.6 percent from the year-to-date July 2019. Apparel imports for the year-to-date July 2020 were 11,860.8 MSME, down 26.8 percent from the year-to-date July 2019.
