CRISAT – CENTRO Digital Fashion Catwalk Competition (DFCC) 2026 Online Orientation  Successfully Held 

The Center for Research & Innovation in Science, Arts & Technology (CRISAT), in collaboration with CENTRO, successfully organized the online orientation program of the CRISAT – CENTRO Digital Fashion Catwalk Competition (DFCC) 2026 on Saturday, 13 June 2026. 

The orientation program was arranged for textile and fashion students to introduce the objectives,  guidelines, and opportunities of the competition, enabling them to showcase their creativity through digital fashion. The event brought together academicians, industry professionals, judges, and students. 

The program commenced with an introduction to CRISAT by Md. Omar Faruk Chowdhury, followed by a welcome speech and an overview of DFCC-2026 by Dr. Abu Sadat Mohammad Sayem, Founder of CRISAT. He highlighted the importance of innovation, digital skills, and industry-oriented learning in shaping the future of the fashion industry. 

A keynote presentation was delivered by Ayesha Akter, Graphic Designer at Centro Tex Ltd., who shared valuable insights into digital design practices and creative approaches in the fashion industry.  Students also participated in an interactive question-and-answer session. 

The distinguished panel of judges shared their valuable guidance and expectations:

Md. Redwanul Islam (Lecturer, NITER) 

Industry representatives Mr. Jahidur Rahman (AGM, Centro Tex Ltd.) and Mr. Zafor Iqbal (GM,  Centro Tex Ltd.) shared their valuable remarks and emphasized the importance of industry–academia collaboration. 

The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Abu Sadat Mohammad Sayem,  Founder of CRISAT

The successful completion of the DFCC-2026 orientation program marks an important milestone towards building a creative and digitally skilled fashion community. The competition aims to provide students with a unique platform to demonstrate their talent, innovation, and technological capabilities. 

The final program of DFCC-2026 will be held as part of the 7th Textile Research Conference  (TRC 2026) on Saturday, 31 October 2026, in Dhaka, Bangladesh, in collaboration with BGMEA  University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT)
