Critical moment in the fight against COVID-19 causes postponement of several exhibitions in 2020

The global outbreak of the COVID-19 coronavirus caused the postponement of several International Exhibitions. This decision was made to prioritize the health and safety of speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, participants and visitors in view of the evolving COVID-19 situation. There are more than 109,000 cases of COVID-19 recorded globally as of March 9, according to the World Health Organization, with around a quarter of the total occurring outside of China, the epicenter of the virus. The organization estimated that more than 3,800 people have died from the virus.”It is definitely alarming that so many people and countries have been affected, so rapidly,” said WHO Director-General TedrosAdhanom in a media briefing on 9 March. “Now that the virus has a foothold in so many countries, the threat of a pandemic has become very real.”

The unfolding coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis has significantly affected the meetings industry. As destinations work to contain the spread of the virus, it has led many leaders to target face-to-face gatherings. Although most activities continue to be held as scheduled, but with extra safeguards and correspondence, a number of high-profile meetings, conferences and conventions have either been delayed or cancelled.

As infections and death tolls continue to soar around the world, flights cancelled, visa and strict travel restrictions are in place to contain it from spreading further. In light of these sad facts which have seriously impacted people & businesses around the world forced organizers to reschedule Exhibitions Dates. Here we are monitoring the latest developments, including confirmations of industry events to be held as scheduled and trade shows, conventions and conferences to be cancelled or postponed due to COVID-19, with so much changing very rapidly.
