A powerful daylong workshop titled “ GST and Road to Successful Industrial Engineering” was held on 18th July at the BGBA Multipurpose Seminar Room, Uttara, organized by SIPEAA (SUST IPE Alumni Association) and proudly sponsored by R&G 3rd Eye.

The event brought together 32 industrial engineering professionals from prominent garment factories to explore practical innovations and leadership skills critical for the evolving apparel industry. The highlight was the live introduction to GST (Garment Standard Time) — China’s top productivity software, now officially available in Bangladesh through R&G 3rd Eye, the sole partner of this tool. With capabilities like accurate SMV calculation, cost control, operator skill matrix, and efficient line balancing, GST promises to revolutionize shop floor operations at a fraction of typical software costs.

Md. Mahbubur Rahman, CIO of R&G 3rd Eye, facilitated the session, demonstrating how GST is not just a tool, but a digital bridge to efficiency, transparency, and real-time management. The session attracted wide appreciation for its practical depth and simplicity.

In a parallel session, Abdullah Al Rana Farhad, General Manager, Organizational Transformation at TEAM Group, inspired attendees with a vision of how IE professionals can drive bigger business impacts. His session focused on ownership, cross-functional problem solving, and transforming from executors to strategic thinkers.

The event underscored a crucial message: When digital tools like GST meet empowered minds, the apparel industry can leap toward a smarter, faster, and more sustainable future.
