Debonair Group has signed an agreement with Super Star Renewable Energy Ltd. (SSREL) to develop an 8 MWp rooftop solar power project, reinforcing its commitment to renewable energy adoption and sustainable industrial development in Bangladesh.
The large-scale solar installation will be implemented under a CAPEX (Capital Expenditure) model and is expected to generate approximately 11.4 million kWh of clean electricity annually, while reducing nearly 6,800 tons of carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions every year. The initiative is expected to enhance the group’s energy efficiency, lower long-term operational costs, and contribute to Bangladesh’s transition toward a low-carbon manufacturing sector.

With an installed capacity of 8,000.64 kWp, the rooftop solar project represents one of the notable renewable energy investments in the country’s industrial sector. By harnessing clean solar energy, Debonair Group aims to strengthen energy security while supporting national and global sustainability goals.
The collaboration between Debonair Group and Super Star Renewable Energy Ltd. reflects the growing momentum of renewable energy integration within Bangladesh’s textile and apparel industry. As global brands and buyers continue to prioritize environmentally responsible manufacturing, investments in renewable energy have become a strategic imperative for export-oriented manufacturers seeking to reduce their environmental footprint and improve competitiveness.
Officials from Debonair Group expressed their appreciation to Super Star Renewable Energy Ltd. for its partnership and technical support in bringing the project to fruition. They noted that the collaboration demonstrates how industrial stakeholders can work together to accelerate clean energy adoption while creating long-term value for businesses, communities, and the environment.
Upon completion, the project is expected to serve as another benchmark for sustainable industrial development in Bangladesh, supporting the country’s ambitions for greener manufacturing and reinforcing the textile sector’s commitment to environmental stewardship.
