Department of Apparel Engineering of BUTEX celebrates ‘Apparel Day’ in a Jovial Manner

screenshot-9The Department of Apparel Engineering of Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX) celebrated their annual day at the University campus on last 9th December, 2019. The program was titled as “APPLIQUE-2019” Textile Focus was the magazine partner of the program. The entire campus was decorated nicely in a festival mood. The first step of such program was initiated last year when such a program titled ‘Degumming-2018’ was introduced as a flagship program of the department.

The event began at 11 o’clock in the morning with a formal session as a guideline for all the students where respected teachers delivered their valuable speech to inspire the students of Apparel Engineering Department to boost their academic performance as well as extra-curriculum activities.

Adnan Maroof Khan, Head of the Department of Apparel Engineering said that the students of AE Department are full of enthusiasm and creativity which makes the department distinctive among the all departments. In fact, department has a proper combination of academic performer and extra-curriculum activist.

Prof. Dr. Md. Mashiur Rahman Khan, honorable Dean of the Faculty of Fashion Design and Apparel Engineering was present as a special guest in the program emphasized on the performance development of irregular students for which, he declared that department will take initiative to start counseling session to ensure cent percent pass in the forthcoming semester.

In the event, Prof. Md. Abul Kashem, honorable Vice-Chancellor of Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX), was present as the chief guest and he expressed his joyous feelings with his students and fellow colleagues. He was delighted to see such a beautiful arrangement and delivered a valuable message to his students that willingness is the only key to do something better in their life. He said that today’s youth can change the face of the future by their good will and hard work.

All the faculty members of Apparel Engineering Department especially Upama Nasrin Haq, Lecturer of the Department of Apparel Engineering was engaged whole time to guide her students to make the program successful.

Then a cake cutting ceremony was held in the Central Auditorium premises in the presence of the honorable Vice-Chancellor. The session ended with a colorful procession at 1.00 o’clock. The procession took place from the Shaheed Minar and circulated the campus. After that, a pompous Flash Mob was held in front of the campus road following a cultural evening later.

On that day, Students from different batches performed spanking performances including dancing, singing, Mime, shadow act, fashion show and so on. Obviously, fireworks were the noticeable segment of that day. After the cultural segment, the four famous song bands of the department also performed their songs & students enjoyed very much. And the program ended with a slogan that it’s not just a day, it’s a legacy of all Apparelians.
