Deputy Head of Mission Netherland Embassy extended warm greetings to the newly elected BGMEA Board

On June 23, 2025, Mr. Thijs Woudstra, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of the Netherlands, extended his warm greetings to the newly elected President and Board of BGMEA. He also paid a courtesy visit to discuss future collaboration.

During the meeting, Mr. Woudstra expressed strong interest on behalf of the Netherlands in expanding trade and business ties with Bangladesh, especially in the apparel sector.

He also shared that by 2030, the Netherlands aims to ensure that 50% of all textile products are made from sustainable materials, including 30% from recycled sources. Another key target is to recycle 50% of post-consumer textile waste, reflecting the country’s firm commitment to circular fashion and sustainability.
