Design In Bangladesh Week 2026 will take place on 6-7 October 2026 at the United Convention Centre, Dhaka, bringing together Bangladesh’s fashion, textile, creative and business communities around a shared ambition: to create greater value through design. Supported by the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), the first edition positions design as a strategic bridge between Bangladesh’s globally respected manufacturing strength and its emerging creative economy.

The two-day programme will convene designers, manufacturers, exporters, entrepreneurs, students, academics, buyers, media and cultural stakeholders. Through runway presentations, designer exhibitions, conversations and professional exchange, the event will spotlight the people, ideas and partnerships shaping a more design-led future for Bangladesh.

A first platform for a design led Bangladesh

Bangladesh is recognised worldwide for its apparel manufacturing capability. Design In Bangladesh Week adds a new dimension to that story by foregrounding original design, contemporary craft, product development, cultural intelligence and brand-building. The platform is designed to help make Bangladesh not only a place where products are made, but a place where new fashion, material and creative ideas are developed and seen.

The programme will feature the Designer Discovery Pavilion, a premium fashion exhibition and curated runway showcases. Emerging and established designers will have opportunities to present collections, explore contemporary interpretations of heritage, meet industry professionals and build visibility within the wider textile-apparel value chain.

Connecting creativity with industry

At its core, Design In Bangladesh Week is a meeting point for creative talent and industrial capability. It encourages designers, brands and manufacturers to collaborate on innovation, responsible production, export-ready product development and stronger Bangladeshi design narratives for international markets.

The event also creates a visible space for students and young talent to engage with established professionals, while inviting buyers, media and industry leaders to encounter the breadth of Bangladesh’s design potential. Its purpose is practical as well as cultural: to grow connections that can turn creative ideas into sustainable opportunities.

A programme rooted in identity and open to the world

The 2026 edition will explore how heritage, craft, innovation and global relevance can coexist in contemporary Bangladeshi design. From textiles and fashion to visual storytelling and product thinking, the event will present design as a language through which Bangladesh can express its identity, strengthen its creative export economy and build lasting international relevance.

Design In Bangladesh Week is organised by Design In Bangladesh, founded by Rokaiya Ahmed Purna, supported by EPB,  with United convention Centre venue partner  and Spellbound Communications Ltd. Event partner supporting execution, BUFT talent acquisition partner
