Dhaka to seek duty-free access for RMG export to the US

duty-freeForeign Minister AK Abdul Momen said Dhaka is looking at the United States market for the next three years for duty-free entry for Bangladeshi readymade apparel (RMG) items.

Bangladesh would also ensure that the RMG sector recovers from the financial consequences triggered by the pandemic, said Momen. The Minister also claimed that he would lift Rohingya’s question of strengthening the US help to repatriate Bangladeshi displaced Myanmar citizens. Dhaka would also advise the US in its Indo-Pacific Strategy (IPS) to invest in infrastructure growth in Bangladesh. The issue of visas for future Bangladeshi students will also be posed as US embassies in Daka, but will also be provided with new Bangladeshi student visas because of the COVID pandemic.
