Department of Textile Engineering of Daffodil International University celebrated IEB Accreditation and reunion of the Textile Alumni on 30 November, 2018 at permanent campus of the university at Ashulia, Dhaka. Engr. S M Monjurul Haque Monju, Vice President, Institute of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) while Engr. S M Sirajul Islam, Chairman, Textile Engineering Division of IEB, Professor Dr. M. Shamsul Islam, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, were present as the Special Guests. Presided over by Professor Dr. Mahabubul Haque, Head, Department of Textile Engineering, DIU the program was also addressed by Professor Dr. S M Mahbub Ul Haque Majumder, Acting Vice Chancellor, DIU Engr. Eklasur Rahman, Director, Bangladesh Dyeing and Finishing, Engr. Aminul Haque, Executive Director, Micro Fibre Group.
Recently B.Sc. in Textile Engineering degree program of Daffodil International University has been received the accreditation certificate from the Board of Accreditation for Engineering and Technical Education (BAETE), an associate organization of Institute of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB).
After a long-term investigation by a high-powered delegation team of BAETE and considering their report and evaluating the quality and standard of education, teacher’s quality, Lab facilities, physical infrastructure IEB accredited Department of Textile Engineering of Daffodil International University. Through this accreditation graduates of Department of Textile Engineering of Daffodil International University will get local and global recognition in professional arena.
According to the certificate, the students who passed B.Sc. in Textile Engineering from the Department of Textile Engineering of DIU will only be eligible to apply for IEB membership and can attend all kind of activities of IEB. Addressing as the chief guest Engr. S M Monjurul Haque Monju said that engineers must have to achieve the quality and standard in their professional life so that they can compete and fit them in locally as well as globally.Beside celebration of IEB Accreditation and reunion, there was a session also held on that program title ‘Reception to the Distinguished Textile and RMG Industry Leaders, 2018’.
