BGMEA participated in the high-level roundtable titled “Beyond Wages: Safer Jobs and Better Lives for Workers in the RMG Sector,” organized by LightCastle Partners under the Bunon 2030 – Oporajita Phase 2 Initiative, with support from the H&M Foundation.

Representing BGMEA, Jabed Hossain Bhuiyan, Chairman, and Ms. Saila Akther Nova, Section In-Charge of the Skill Development Program (SDP), joined the discussion. The Chairman highlighted BGMEA’s ongoing efforts to improve workers’ health, safety, social protection, and skills through initiatives such as health centers, the Mother & Child Benefit Program (MCBP), the Unemployed Workers Protection Program (UWPP), women’s health, eye care, and TB awareness.
The roundtable also brought together representatives from RSC, ADB, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, DIFE, LightCastle Partners, and other stakeholders to discuss ways to strengthen collaboration for a safer, healthier, and more sustainable RMG industry.
Together, collaboration is helping build a better future for Bangladesh’s RMG workers.
