Eight NITER Students Selected for Prestigious China Educational Visit

Eight students from the Department of Textile Engineering at the National Institute of Textile Engineering and Research (NITER) have been selected for an educational visit to China through a rigorous multi-stage selection process organized by the Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA).

The selection process, conducted over the past month, comprised several stages, including written examinations and viva voce assessments. Following the successful completion of all evaluation phases, the names of the eight selected students were officially announced on July 19, 2026. The selected students are Jahirul Islam Pranto, Amit Sarker, Mohammad Khalid Saifullah Efaf, Naim Hasan Apu, Abdul Kaiwum Khondoker, Md. Ariful Islam, Sifar Haider Shibeb, and Kazi Abdul Baki Navid.

The educational visit is being arranged under the patronage of Mr. Md. Khorshed Alam, an industrialist and a member of the NITER Governing Body. The initiative aims to provide the participants with advanced knowledge of the textile sector and first-hand exposure to China’s modern textile industry. During the visit, the students will tour leading textile manufacturing facilities, observe advanced production technologies, and gain valuable insights into industrial operations, innovation, and industry best practices.

The program reflects BTMA’s continued commitment to developing globally competent textile professionals through international learning opportunities. The experience is expected to strengthen the participants’ technical expertise, broaden their global perspective, and contribute to the future growth of Bangladesh’s textile and apparel industry.
