For the first time, Bangladeshi professionals can prepare for and earn the IFRS Foundation’s FSA Credential, the world’s most advanced sustainability disclosure credential, through a locally based, globally authorized institution.
ESG Institute Bangladesh (ESGIB), a Dhaka-based sustainability education institution, has been officially listed as an FSA Credential Approved Education Provider by the IFRS Foundation — the international body responsible for the ISSB Sustainability Disclosure Standards, which have been adopted or are under consideration in over 20 jurisdictions worldwide. ESGIB is now listed on ifrs.org, making it the authorized provider for FSA Credential preparation in Bangladesh and a recognized member of the IFRS Foundation’s global network of Approved Education Providers.

Why This Matters for Bangladesh
Bangladesh is among the economies most exposed to climate-related financial risk, and local regulators and financial institutions are increasingly aligning with global sustainability disclosure frameworks. Bangladesh Bank’s Sustainable Finance Policy, growing pressure on the RMG and export sectors to meet international ESG reporting standards, and the global push for ISSB adoption are creating urgent demand for professionals who understand sustainability disclosure at a sophisticated level.
Until now, Bangladeshi professionals seeking the FSA Credential had no locally based preparation option. ESGIB’s authorization changes that — bringing a globally recognized, IFRS Foundation-backed credential within reach of professionals across the country’s banking, finance, corporate, and consulting sectors.
About the FSA Credential
The FSA Credential, developed by the IFRS Foundation, is the most advanced credential related to the ISSB Standards. With over 8,000 candidates from more than 60 countries, it is designed for corporate professionals, investment analysts, auditors, consultants, and students who need to understand, apply, and lead in sustainability disclosure. The credential covers IFRS S1 and IFRS S2, SASB industry-specific frameworks, and the integration of sustainability information into financial analysis and valuation.
The credential comprises two levels, each assessed through a two-hour online examination:
Level I — Principles and practices: sustainability disclosure standards, IFRS S1 and IFRS S2, materiality, and how sustainability information informs corporate strategy and investor decisions.
Level II — Application and analysis: identifying sustainability-related risks and opportunities, normalizing sustainability data, and connecting sustainability to valuation models.
Programme Details
ESGIB will deliver live, instructor-led FSA Credential preparation courses online in English. The first batch opens in July 2026 and is open to candidates in Bangladesh and worldwide. Exam fees are priced according to the World Bank’s country income classification, with Bangladesh classified as a lower-middle-income country, making the credential significantly more affordable for local candidates than the standard high-income-country rate.
