A delegation of Electronics Safety and Security Association of Bangladesh – ESSAB led by its President Zahir Uddin Babar paid a courtesy call on BGMEA President Mr. Faruque Hassan at BGMEA’s Gulshan PR office. BGMEA Vice President Shahidullah Azim, ESSAB Secretary General M. Mahmudur Rashid and Senior Vice President Md. Niaz Ali Chisty were present in the meeting.
They discuss the current state of the garment industry and various contemporary issues, especially the unprecedented initiatives that the industry has taken in the past years to create a safe working environment and the unique progress that has been made in this regard.
BGMEA President Faruque Hassan said Bangladesh has emerged in the world as one of the safest and most transparent garment producing countries in the world. He said that this achievement was due to the support of the stakeholders as well as the determination, efforts and investment of the entrepreneurs. He added that the industry is committed to continuing its initiatives in the field of safety and security. He hopes that ESSAB, along with all its members, will continue to support the industry in providing a safe working environment.
ESSAB President Zahir Uddin Babar said that ESSAB is proud to be by the side of garment industry in industrial development. He hopes that this ongoing process will continue and that ESSAB and BGMEA will work together to develop sustainable industries.
ESSAB Secretary General M. Mahmudur Rashid said there is no alternative to safe working environment to attract investment in Bangladesh to the world. He said now it is high time to proudly do proper country branding of Bangladesh. To achieve this, ESSAB members are constantly adopting new technology and the best quality fire safety system.
