EU announced support programs for the badly affected workers in Bangladesh

Few days ago in a meeting at the EU Dhaka office between the EU and three representatives from the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA), the EU announced its plans to launch a few support programs for the badly affected workers in Bangladesh.

EU officials have expressed high concern about the deadlock in Bangladesh’s RMG export. They addressed the sector’s current and potential crisis, and possible ways to solve it. Owing to the nationwide Coronavirus lockout, Bangladesh’s industrial sector is incurring losses worth Tk 11.31 billion per day. Also for the last month, the fabric exporting market is shutdown, which increases the liability every day.
