As per the latest released data by European statistics organization EUROSTAT, cumulatively in January to October 2022 period, EU imported USD 86.74 billion worth of apparel from the world, noting 24.41% year-on-year growth.

In Jan-Oct 2022, the EU imported USD 19.40 billion worth of apparel from Bangladesh, as it holds the position of the 2nd largest apparel import source for the EU. EU’s apparel import from Bangladesh increased by 41.76% compared to the same period in 2021.
China continues to hold the title of the largest apparel supplier to the EU with a 29.39 % share. During the first ten months of 2022, EU’s imports from China reached USD 25.49 billion with 22.43% year-on-year growth. At the same time, imports from Turkey also grew by 12.82% year-on-year. EU’s imports from Turkey also stood at USD 10.12 billion. Import from India also reached USD 4.24 billion registering 23.46% growth year-on-year.
Among the other top suppliers, EU’s imports from Cambodia, Vietnam, Pakistan, Morocco, Srilanka and Indonesia increased by 39.69%, 33.05%, 28.55%, 9.59%, 18%, and 31.76% respectively.
