Speaking the event, Wali Tasar Uddin said this partnership marks a significant step towards strengthening collaboration in healthcare, rehabilitation, and capacity building.

“Both parties will jointly plan and deliver health projects through project management and consultancy support, while also facilitating professional and student exchange programmes, including visits within Bangladesh and abroad,” he added.

Wali highlighted that these exchanges will create opportunities for knowledge sharing, exposure to best practices, and skills development across health and rehabilitation disciplines.

Valerie Ann Taylor, often referred to as the “Mother Teresa of Bangladesh”, she was awarded the 2004 Independence Day Award by the Government of Bangladesh for her outstanding public service.

Taylor said she founded the CRP in 1979. Now, around one lakh people take services from the CRP each year. The organisation has a total of 1,200 staffs including doctors, nurses and officials and at 13 centres including Dhaka, Rajshahi, Chattagram, Barishal, Manikganj, and Pabna.

“Basically, we serve the people affected in traumatic cases refer to physical injuries from road accidents or violence, and also rehabilitee the mentally challenged people with a caregiver. We want to expand our service across the country. Better treatment for the disadvantaged community in Bangladesh is needed. We try to do that,” she also said.
