Swisscontact arranged a program titled on `Fabric of change Role of Swisscontact in up skilling RMG workers in Bangladesh’ at Hotel Renaissance, Gulshan, Dhaka yesterday.
Mr. Akhter Hossain Apurbo, vice president, BKMEA was present as the spokesperson of knitwear sector in a panel discussion of the program. He addressed some upcoming issues like due diligence, carbon emission, LDC graduation, AI, GSP and so many.
He said, a lot of issues are coming in RMG sector and we have to adopt ourselves with the new knowledge and changes.
The entrepreneurs have be prepared to face those issues and make themselves more competitive as they negotiate with the buyers strongly.
Mr. Apurbo emphasized on unified certification from the buyers. Many kinds of certifications are prevalent in the RMG sector to fulfill the requirement of the buyers. He said, it should be stopped.
We have to raise our voice against this hassle and make a win win situation. Government has to come forward to facilitate these issues for the sake of the development of RMG sector, he added.
Director of BGMEA Mr. Mohammad Sohel Sadat and Mr. Rajesh Bheda, CEO and managing director of RBC were present at the panel discussion.
