Due to the pandemic situation, the European Union and the world put the effort into textiles, clothes, footwear, and accessories supply chains, amid an ongoing social and climate crisis. On another hand, COVID has seriously impacted major manufacturing hubs (China, India, and Italy), leading to major supply disorders. The textile industry is the heart of our economy. We have developed our industry a lot and there are so many remarkable developments we have already achieved i.e Green Industry, Compliance Factory, industry best practices, etc. Team Textile Focus talked with industry owners and stakeholders and took quick feedback regarding the present business situation. Ashikur Rahman (Tuhin), Managing Director, TAD Group, recently shared his opinion about the recent scenario of the RMG industry with Textile Focus-
If after the Eid holidays our industry has to stay closed for long days, it will cause big losses for industry and the economy. We know the yearly months of June, July and August are our main season for exporting apparel items for winter clothes. Factory owners and RMG workers are now busy with orders for the next session. We see globally that many factories and stores are open.
When factory closure at this crucial time might cause our buyers to cancel their orders o, hold shipment or send it by air. In this period our order flow increased from last year. As a sourcing and exporter company I hope that many orders will come in Bangladesh due to the India and Myanmar crisis. As a competitive market and shorter lead time, we need a smooth supply chain for order receiving to delivery.
