FFL recently celebrated the “Day for Elimination of Violence Against Women” on the 25th of November 2024. The objective of the event was to raise awareness about the workplace safety of women and promote the policies FFL upholds to ensure their safety. As the RMG industry is one of the key sectors that employ women in Bangladesh, ensuring a safe work environment where they can thrive is crucial for the industry’s growth. To ensure their safety, FFL has implemented policies to safeguard their interests, such as an Anti-Harassment Committee, a Participatory Committee, and anonymous suggestion boxes throughout the facility. These mechanisms allow women workers to communicate their needs directly to the management for swift and accountable actions.
The event raised awareness of these policies, as well as disseminated information on women’s safety and security, with the help of informational videos on how to address workplace harassment issues. FFL ardently upholds the values of safety and security for women and celebrates their contributions to the industry, advancing Bangladesh’s position on the world stage for RMG manufacturing.
Discussions at the event focused on these policies, featuring videos on how women can protect themselves and advocate for their rights, speeches from the Participatory Committee on violence prevention, and insights into the role of the Anti-Harassment Committee. The program also featured videos on ensuring a harassment-free workplace and safety measures.
