Dhaka, BangladeshโOctober 22, 2024โMr. Faruque Hassan has been elected as the new Chairman of the Board of Trustees at BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT). His election was unanimously approved during the university’s 54th Board meeting held on October 21, 2024.
A founding member of BUFTโs Board of Trustees and former President of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), Mr. Hassan brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He is also the Managing Director of Giant Group, a leading player in the garment industry.
Mr. Hassanโs appointment is seen as a pivotal move to strengthen BUFTโs partnerships with academic institutions, research organizations, and the garment sector. His leadership is anticipated to enhance the universityโs growth trajectory and improve its connections within the industry.
In his new capacity, Mr. Hassan aims to foster collaboration that benefits both students and industry stakeholders, positioning BUFT as a leading center of excellence in fashion and technology education.
