Dhaka, Bangladesh—October 22, 2024—Mr. Faruque Hassan has been elected as the new Chairman of the Board of Trustees at BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT). His election was unanimously approved during the university’s 54th Board meeting held on October 21, 2024.
A founding member of BUFT’s Board of Trustees and former President of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), Mr. Hassan brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He is also the Managing Director of Giant Group, a leading player in the garment industry.
Mr. Hassan’s appointment is seen as a pivotal move to strengthen BUFT’s partnerships with academic institutions, research organizations, and the garment sector. His leadership is anticipated to enhance the university’s growth trajectory and improve its connections within the industry.
