FloSolar Signs Strategic MOU with Decathlon’s subsidiary in Bangladesh to Deliver 100 MWp of Renewable Energy for Supply Chain Decarbonization

FloSolar Solutions Ltd. (“FloSolar”) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) with Decathlon’s subsidiary in Bangladesh, which acts as the  the sourcing arm of the global sports retailer., The MOU is intended to facilitate the adoption of renewable energy across Decathlon’s Bangladesh-based supplier network.

Under the MOU, FloSolar will collaborate with leading Renewable Energy Operators and Investors (REOI) in Asia to develop and implement Corporate Power Purchase Agreements (CPPAs) with select Desipro suppliers. The first phase will target 50 MWp of ground-mounted solar capacity, with the aim of scaling up to 100 MWp by 2030 under the proposed Merchant Power Plant (MPP) policy.

This initiative is facilitated by Decathlon’s subsidiary in Bangladesh in order to contribute to Decathlon’s global commitment to decarbonizing its supply chain, supporting its Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and RE100 pledges. FloSolar will provide flexible models for supplier adoption, while Desipro BD will act as facilitator, introducing FloSolar to qualified suppliers ready to transition to clean energy.

Sayef Ahmed Chowdhury, Authorized Representative of Decathlon’s subsidiary in Bangladesh, stated:

“Decathlon is committed to making the benefits of sport accessible in a sustainable way. This collaboration with FloSolar will enable our suppliers in Bangladesh to lower their carbon footprint while enhancing energy resilience.”

The MOU outlines a 3-year cooperation period, during which projects will be developed in compliance with Decathlon’s Code of Conduct, high ethical standards, and all applicable environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles.
