Four New RMG Factories in Bangladesh Achieve Prestigious LEED Certification

Bangladesh’s ready-made garment (RMG) sector has further strengthened its global leadership in green manufacturing with the addition of four new LEED-certified factories. The newly certified facilities include three Platinum-rated and one Gold-rated factory, showcasing the industry’s continued commitment to sustainability, energy efficiency, and environmentally responsible production.

The newly LEED-certified factories are:

1. Advance Attire Ltd.

  • Location: Phukuria, Dhaka-Aricha Highway, Manikgonj, Dhaka
  • Rating System: LEED BD+C: New Construction v3 – LEED 2009
  • Points Earned: 96
  • Certification Level: Platinum
  • Remarkable for one of the highest LEED scores in the region, signifying exceptional design and performance.

2. Amanat Shah Fabrics Ltd. – Woven Composite

  • Location: Vatpara, Panchdona, Narsingdi
  • Rating System: LEED O+M: Existing Buildings v4.1
  • Points Earned: 82
  • Certification Level: Platinum
  • A notable example of sustainability in an operational facility, setting a benchmark in resource management.

3. Cotton Field BD Ltd. – Production Building

  • Location: 42/3, Rajnagar, Sataish Road, Tongi, Gazipur
  • Rating System: LEED BD+C: New Construction v4
  • Points Earned: 83
  • Certification Level: Platinum
  • Recognized for integrating green building strategies from the ground up.

4. KM Apparel Knit Pvt Ltd.

  • Location: 8/A, Chonpara, Ujampur, Uttarkhan, Dhaka
  • Rating System: LEED BD+C: New Construction v4
  • Points Earned: 62
  • Certification Level: Gold
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to sustainable building practices in a fast-growing sector.

National Milestone Achieved

With the inclusion of these four factories, Bangladesh now has a total of 248 LEED-certified RMG factories, comprising:

  • 105 Platinum-rated factories
  • 129 Gold-rated factories

These achievements reinforce Bangladesh’s position as a global leader in green garment manufacturing.

Moreover, Bangladesh now hosts 9 out of the world’s top 10 highest-rated LEED-certified factories, and 68 out of the top 100—a testament to the sector’s dedication to excellence and environmental stewardship.

The continuous adoption of LEED certification in the Bangladeshi RMG industry not only enhances the country’s competitiveness on the global stage but also aligns with international sustainability standards, supporting a greener, more responsible future for apparel manufacturing.
