The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has expressed its expectation of full government support to achieve the national target of raising apparel exports to USD 100 billion by 2030. At the same time, the association has voiced its aspiration to establish the “Made in Bangladesh” brand as a global symbol of excellence.

In a congratulatory letter, BGMEA also extended its congratulations to the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), led by Tarique Rahman, on its historic victory in the 13th National Parliamentary Election.
In the message, signed by BGMEA President Mahmud Hasan Khan on Saturday, it was stated, “Under the exceptional and far-sighted leadership of Tarique Rahman, the BNP’s unprecedented and decisive victory, winning more than two-thirds of the parliamentary seats, marks an unforgettable milestone in the democratic history of the country. This victory reflects the collective mandate of the people of Bangladesh.”
The message further said: “Tarique Rahman’s strong and dynamic leadership will play a significant role in establishing Bangladesh as a respected and powerful economic force on the global stage. BGMEA firmly believes that this leadership will be effective in building a prosperous, inclusive, and democratic Bangladesh.”
BGMEA also noted, “As the main driving force of the country’s economy, the ready-made garment industry is currently at a critical juncture. To address post-LDC graduation global challenges, ensure uninterrupted energy security for the industry, and further strengthen Bangladesh’s position in the global market, the new government’s visionary policy support and business-friendly approach are essential.” In addition, BGMEA expressed hope that the active role of BGMEA members elected to Parliament with overwhelming public support will contribute to resolving the challenges facing the apparel sector and to strengthening the overall economy. In the concluding part of the message, BGMEA wished Tarique Rahman good health, a long life, and complete success in all his initiatives in leading the country.
