Government Policymakers should rethink to keep our factories open during lockdown following strict Health and safety regulations.
Hope all the efforts of our leadership team and all individual’s collective efforts will convince the Honorable PM and Government Policymakers to keep our factories open during lockdown following strict Health and safety regulations already in place.
It’s hard to imagine what is the thinking process of the recommending body of COVID-19 advisory board to include the RMG sector under lockdown when their own study showing that there are less than 1% infection or statistically 0 infections among RMG workers. If there is a lockdown before Eid, there will be massive order cancellation or airfreight which owners will not be able to bear, which will be resulting in Bankruptcy by many RMG factories.
How the Salary and bonuses of Eid will be paid? Also, who will ensure that the RMG workers will not go back to villages and spread the disease even more during travel and transit. No matter how strict the lockdown is, people will find a way to travel … there is no way to stop them. We have experienced this in the past. We have to show tolerance and patience and explain to the policymakers, again and again, the real situation on the ground. If we fail, a massive disaster is about to be faced by all of us. So, may Allah be with us and let us all stay united and keep trying, pleading and praying.
