The Textile Engineers Alumni Association of City University (TEAACU), the first official alumni association among private universities in Bangladesh, successfully organized its annual Iftar Mahfil 2025 on March 14, 2025, at the permanent campus of City University, Bangladesh.

A Large-Scale Gathering and Participation
The grand event hosted around 1,500 attendees, including alumni from the Textile Engineering Department, current students, faculty members, university staff, and underprivileged individuals. This initiative reflects TEAACU’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its alumni network and fostering a culture of social responsibility.
Under the leadership of TEAACU President Md Zahurul Islam Rojen and General Secretary Md Limon Khan, the event was successfully executed. Md Arifuzzaman’s tireless efforts played a crucial role in organizing this gathering.This program facilitated by City University Textile Club
Several distinguished personalities from the textile and apparel industry graced the occasion, along with industry leaders, corporate professionals, and academicians, further adding significance to the event. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Brigadier General Prof. Dr. Engr. Md Lutfor Rahman (Retd.).
Key Decisions and Future Plans
During the gathering, key decisions were made, including:
✔ A grand reunion will be organized on December 16, 2025, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Textile Engineering Department at City University. Detailed preparations for this event will commence after Eid.
✔ TEAACU members reaffirmed their commitment to supporting current students in skill development and problem-solving at any time.
Special Prayer and Tribute
A special prayer session, led by Md Arifuzzaman, was held, offering prayers for the departed alumni and for the recovery of those currently ill.
A significant moment of the event was the tribute to Shaheed Sazzad Hossain Sajal, a student from the 55th batch of the Textile Engineering Department, who was martyred during the July Revolution. In his memory, a dedicated space named “Shahid Sajal Corner” was inaugurated in front of the university. TEAACU also extended financial assistance to his family as a token of support. The Iftar Mahfil 2025 served not only as a religious and social gathering but also as an event that strengthened the bond between alumni and current students. It reaffirmed the alumni association’s dedication to empowering the next generation of textile engineers while fostering a strong sense of unity and purpose.
