Syed Tasnem Mahmood, CEO, GREENBUD
We’re thrilled to announce that Greenbud has been selected to conduct a significant baseline assessment for the textile and Ready-Made Garments (RMG) sector in Bangladesh. This project, a joint initiative of FES Bangladesh and OSHE Foundation, aims to better understand energy transition, the adaptation of renewable energy, and its impact on employment, rights, and livelihoods of the RMG workforce in Bangladesh.

Bangladesh’s textile and RMG sector, being one of the largest energy consumers, holds a significant potential to reduce environmental degradation and fulfill commitments towards GHG emissions reductions. The insights drawn from our study will be instrumental in shaping future policy advocacy and campaigns promoting green energy in RMG and textile sectors and building a climate-resilient Bangladesh.
As part of the project, we’re also excited to engage with youth and women trade union leaders from the garments and textile sector. We’re looking forward to strengthening their knowledge and advocacy skills on just transition issues, creating a network of climate activists ready to make substantial changes at workplace, union, and community levels.
We’re incredibly proud to be embarking on this journey of sustainability, taking steps towards a greener and cleaner Bangladesh. We’re committed to harnessing our expertise to make a meaningful difference in the textile and RMG sector, promoting clean energy, waste management, and robust climate actions.
Stay tuned as we share updates and insights from this exciting journey towards a more sustainable future.
