Hams Garments Ltd being the highest rated LEED Certified RMG factory in the world

Hams Garments Ltd.’s achievement of securing USGBC LEED Platinum certification with a score of 108 out of 110 is a global record, being the highest rated LEED Certified RMG factory in the world. With the global manufacturing landscape increasingly shaped by climate responsibility, resource efficiency, and ESG scrutiny, such an achievement signifies the highest level of environmental performance currently achievable under internationally recognized standards. What makes this milestone particularly significant is that it was achieved within the context of Bangladesh’s Ready-Made Garment sector—an industry often discussed globally through the lens of scale rather than sustainability. This achievement challenges outdated perceptions and reinforces a growing reality: sustainability in Bangladesh is no longer confined to pilot projects or niche factories. This project was proudly consultant by 360 total Solution Ltd. 360 TSL, a leading Green Building Consultancy Services provider in Bangladesh, facilitated the LEED certification process.

BGMEA former director Mohiuddin Rubel said, This achievement adds momentum to Bangladesh’s broader sustainability transition. With hundreds of green garment factories already in operation, this record-setting performance by HAMS Garments Ltd. raises the benchmark for what is possible and encourages the industry to move beyond minimum compliance toward measurable excellence. It also demonstrates that climate-aligned industrial growth and export success do not have to be mutually exclusive.

Perhaps most importantly, this milestone offers a reference point for the future. As Bangladesh prepares for challenges linked to LDC graduation, carbon regulations, and shifting global trade dynamics, sustainability leadership will increasingly define industrial credibility. Achievements like this show that Bangladesh is not merely adapting to global expectations, it is actively shaping them.
