
Harmonious industrial relations existing between workers and employers is one of the key factors behind the success of the RMG industry in Bangladesh, said Faruque Hassan, President of BGMEA.
“The relations built over many years of working together have taken a solid foundation which is very important to drive the industry forward. The Industrial Police has been playing a pivotal role in maintaining the peaceful and cooperative relationships between workers and employers in the apparel sector,” he said.
He made the remarks while speaking at the founding anniversary ceremony of the Industrial Police as a special guest on November 10.
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan, MP attended the program as chief guest while Adviser to the Prime Minister on Private Industry and Investment Salman Fazlur Rahman, former President of FBCCI and BGMEA Md. Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin, MP, Inspector General of Police Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun BPM (Bar), PPM, and Public Security Division Secretary Md. Aminul Islam Khan were present as special guests in the anniversary program held in Dhaka.
Additional Inspector General of Police, Industrial Police MD. Mahabubor Rahman, BPM, PPM presided over the ceremony which was also attended by Executive President of BKMEA Mohammad Hatem and senior police officials.
In his address, BGMEA President Faruque Hassan said since its inception the Industrial Police has been providing support and cooperation to the RMG industry through maintaining law and order situations and assuring security and a peaceful atmosphere in the garment sector.
He thanked the Industrial Police for their support and hoped it would continue in the coming days.
