Helen Keller and BGMEA discussed collaborative efforts aimed at improving the health and productivity of RMG Workers

A delegation from Helen Keller International visited the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) to discuss collaborative efforts aimed at improving the health and productivity of garment workers in Bangladesh.
The delegation was led by Ms. Pooja Pandey Rana, Multicountry Director, and accompanied by Dr. Afasana Shewly, Program Manager.
The meeting was chaired by Inamul Haq Khan, Senior Vice President of BGMEA, and attended by Ms. Rumana Rashid, Director of BGMEA.
During the meeting, Dr. Shewly presented the baseline findings of the initiative titled “Comprehensive Eyecare for the Garment Workers: Assessing the Impact on Productivity.” The results demonstrated positive outcomes from eye care and nutrition awareness interventions, including improved productivity and operational efficiency among garment workers.
Both BGMEA and Helen Keller International expressed interest in scaling up the initiative to reach a wider workforce.
Inamul Haq Khan stated, “BGMEA is fully committed to the health and well-being of our workers, who are the backbone of the industry.
