Desk Report: Swedish companies have a lot to offer when it comes to sustainability. Promoting the green transition in the #RMG-sector is a priority for Sweden and the private sector plays a crucial part to help to achieve the SDGs”, said Ambassador Alex at the first High-Level Policy Dialogue within the newly launched Sustainable Fashion Platform initiative by Embassy and Business Sweden.
The platform gathers RMG-brands H&M, IKEA and Lindex, NCCI Nordic Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Bangladesh and Sweden-Bangladesh Business Council and aims at coordinating their efforts on sustainability within the RMG sector and exploring opportunities for Sweden and Bangladesh to cooperate.
The dialogue focused on renewable energy and Dr Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury BB, Hon’ble Adviser to the Prime Minister on Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Affairs graced the event as Chief Guest.
Mr. Md. Habibur Rahman, Secretary of, the Power Division, Ms. Munira Sultana, Chairperson, of the Sustainable and Renewable Energy Development Authority and Mr. Faruque Hassan, President of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association participated as Special Guests. Sweden looks forward to scaling up the partnership with Bangladesh on sustainability and green transition.
