Textile Focus: Could you please share with us the latest innovation in Textile Machinery, particularly in Sewing Machinery?
Wu Liangjie: This is such a good question, and for the global sewing machine sector, it’s actually encountering a revolutionary change in terms of its technologies. It’s really rapid and important. At the same time, Hikari, in regard to the technological revolution, has invested a lot, not only in its labor cost but also in the R&D investments. So, this is quite meaningful to help those garment factories to enjoy the high technologies.
Textile Focus: As an innovation leader, what are the latest products you showcasing for the next generation?
Wu Liangjie: Now, seeing from the perspective of global innovation, all the factories, all the manufacturers, they’re trying their best to put up the new innovations, especially among them, the Chinese factories, Chinese manufacturers are leading in this. And among all Chinese factories, Hikari is the most iconic company in innovation. In 2023, Hikari launched the new generation of intelligent sewing machines, and we released our intelligent threading and thread tension control technology. So, these can truly help garment factories improve quality and production.
Textile Focus: Bangladeshi apparel makers now focus on automation. They want cost-effective and energy-efficient machines. In that area, how can Hikari support them?
Wu Liangjie: This impressive technology, this can truly help the sewing machine sector improve a lot, especially for the ready garment factories. Because we can see, using this technology, that the stitches are more beautiful. And in sewing the thin fabrics, we can reduce the puckering or the wrinkles to a certain degree. And the operators, when they use the machine, they can directly feel that the thread breakage rate has been reduced a lot. And according to our calculation, it’s reduced by 80%. So, these are massively helping the improvement of the quality of the garment, and also improving the efficiency of manufacturing.

So, especially you can see in the past years, that Bangladesh, the manufacturing level is swiftly changing from a bit low-end to the middle to high-end level of the garment manufacturing.
