Hohenstein and OEKO-TEX® Roadshow 2026

Hohenstein Bangladesh successfully hosted the Hohenstein and OEKO-TEX® Roadshow 2026 on 8 August 2026 at Sheraton Dhaka, bringing together Lidl & Kaufland Asia vendors and industry professionals for an informative programme focused on sustainability, product safety, transparency, regulatory developments, and the future of responsible textile production.

The roadshow provided a valuable platform for knowledge sharing and industry dialogue, helping participants better understand evolving global requirements and practical approaches to building safer, more sustainable, and transparent textile supply chains.

The event featured Mark Randall, Director Sales Europe, Hohenstein Laboratories GmbH & Co. KG, alongside Dr. Mohammad Kamruzzaman, Regional Chief – Southeast Asia, who shared valuable perspectives on emerging market expectations and the changing landscape of sustainability and compliance in the textile industry.

A series of technical sessions explored key topics that are increasingly important for textile and apparel businesses. The first session, “PFAS – Review, Current Developments & Outlook,” was presented by Johny Yasmin Kanta, Sr. General Manager, Hohenstein Laboratories Bangladesh Limited. The session addressed the growing global focus on PFAS, emerging regulatory developments, potential risks, and the importance of proactive management for businesses.

The second session, “Building Sustainable Textiles: The Role of STANDARD 100, Organic & Recycled Certifications,” was delivered by Tanjiul Hoque Tanvi, Sr. Manager – OEKO-TEX®. The presentation highlighted how recognized certifications can support businesses in improving product safety, strengthening sustainability practices, and increasing transparency across the textile value chain.

The third session, “OEKO-TEX® STeP & MADE IN GREEN: Preparing You for DPP & a Transparent Future,” was presented by Adnan Mahbub, Senior Executive – OEKO-TEX® STeP, Sustainability Team. The session focused on the growing importance of traceability, transparent supply chains, and Digital Product Passport (DPP) readiness as the industry moves toward greater accountability and product-level transparency.

Beyond the technical presentations, the roadshow created an opportunity for Lidl & Kaufland Asia vendors to engage directly with Hohenstein and OEKO-TEX® experts, exchange industry perspectives, and gain practical insights into addressing current and emerging sustainability requirements.

The discussions throughout the event reinforced a clear message: sustainability is no longer only about meeting requirements it is about building resilient, transparent, and future-ready businesses. From chemical management and product safety to sustainable certifications, traceability, and DPP readiness, companies must continue adapting to changing expectations across global markets.

The Hohenstein and OEKO-TEX® Roadshow 2026 reflects Hohenstein Bangladesh’s continued commitment to supporting the textile and apparel industry through knowledge, technical expertise, and practical solutions. By connecting industry stakeholders with the latest developments in sustainability, safety, and transparency, Hohenstein continues to help businesses turn evolving requirements into meaningful progress.

Together, we move towards a safer, more sustainable, and more transparent future for textiles.
