Desk Report: With the motto “Moving towards a sustainable future with OEKO-TEX® by Hohenstein a seminar organized jointly by Hohenstein group for the textile experts, industry legislators and end-product manufacturers on Thursday 19th May 2022 at Mohona Ballroom, Hotel Radisson BLU, Chattogram Bay View. Inaugurated and led by Dr. Engr. Md. Kamruzzaman (Kamrul), Regional Chief-Southeast Asia, Hohenstein group.

The seminar had speakers as Mr. Markus Tiemann, Deputy Head of Global Marketing and Sales at Hohenstein group, Ms. Johny Yasmin Kanta, Sr. General Manager, Hohenstein Laboratories Bangladesh Limited.

Ms. Rabeya Sultana, Sr. Auditor-Sustainability team at STeP by OEKO-TEX® and Tanjiul Hoque Tanvi, Sr. Quality Assurance officer-STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®. Port city Chattogram, being one of the prime textile processing zones, has a lot more to contribute to the textile value chain in matters of product stewardship and sustainable management.

In the seminar, global sustainability standards and RSL management, product safety, process control, as well as impact of OEKO-TEX® services in current market trends and sustainability demands are discussed. The spontaneity of attendees and interactive participation made the gathering livelier and more congenial, marking a new era of traceable and standardized supply chain in textile sector.
