Hohenstein Institute Bangladesh, the official representative of the OEKO-TEX® Association in Bangladesh, recently hosted a groundbreaking training program, “Training and Development in OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100.”

This unique initiative, held on May 14th, 2024, at the Dhaka office, specifically targeted undergraduate students from various universities. The program aimed to equip these future textile leaders with the knowledge and tools to navigate the complexities of sustainable textile production.
The event boasted a distinguished inauguration ceremony, graced by the presence of Dr. Engr. Mohammad Kamruzzman, Regional Chief (South-East Asia) of Hohenstein Group, and Professor Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Pro Vice Chancellor of BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology.
“We are at a pivotal moment,” Dr. Kamruzzman remarked during his address. “These students, particularly those in their final year, are poised to enter the textile workforce. Before they do, we want to ensure they are well-versed in how OEKO-TEX® standards contribute to sustainability across all facets of the industry.”
This initiative marks a significant expansion of Hohenstein Institute Bangladesh’s educational offerings. Since October 2020, their Hohenstein Academy has served as a valuable platform for knowledge sharing, providing in-depth training for industry professionals and customers. However, this is the first time the academy has extended its reach to undergraduate students.
By equipping future generations with the knowledge and commitment to sustainable practices, Hohenstein Institute Bangladesh is fostering a more responsible and eco-conscious textile industry in Bangladesh. This program serves as a powerful testament to their dedication to shaping a brighter future for textiles.
