Desk Report: According to the EPB data, Bangladesh bagged $52.02 billion through exports in fiscal year 2021-22, registering a 34.38% year-on-year growth.

Ready Made Garments sector, the highest earners of the export receipts, earned $42.6 billion in the FY22, fetching a y-o-y growth of 35.47%, which was $31.45 billion in the last fiscal.
Home textile, a new player in the export basket, earned $1.62 billion in the FY22 registering a growth of 43.28% from $1.13 billion in FY21.
Home textile has gradually emerged as a new player in the textile production and exports from Bangladesh. According to Industry insiders, Home textile is one of the first-line export sectors in Bangladesh with the ability to produce bulk products, which also accelerated the country to emerge as a global leader.

The home textile export basket of the country includes bed linen, bed sheet and other bedroom textiles, bath linen, carpets and rugs, blankets, kitchen linen, curtains, cushions and cushion cover, and covers for quilts
According to Technavio, the global home textiles trade was valued at $118 billion in 2017, $131.5 billion in 2020 and will be $170-$180 billion by the end of 2025, growing at a CAGR of 3.5% or more during 2018-2025.
