The HSBC-AUW School of Apparel and Retail Management marked its first year of establishment by celebrating the graduation of its inaugural Master’s class on May 29, 2024. This milestone event, resulting from a strategic collaboration between HSBC and the Asian University for Women (AUW), is dedicated to empowering women in Bangladesh’s garment industry.

The celebratory occasion brought together prominent leaders from Bangladesh’s Ready-Made Garment (RMG) sector, providing a platform for networking and inspiration. Among the distinguished guests was Mr. Tanvir Ahmed, Managing Director of Envoy Legacy, Envoy Textiles Limited, Sheltech Group, and Green Textile. Mr. Ahmed shared his insights and expertise with the graduates, intending to recruit these highly skilled professionals from the first cohort, emphasizing their potential to impact the industry significantly.
The event also featured notable attendees including Mr. Dipak C. Jain, Co-Chair of the Academic Council of the China Europe International Business School Social Security & Aging Finance Institute, Dr. Rubana Huq, Vice-Chancellor of AUW, and Mr. Md. Mahbub ur Rahman, Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Bangladesh, along with other key figures from the apparel industry.
Dr. Rubana Huq highlighted the importance of integrating fresh talent into the garment sector and fostering female leadership. “This Master’s program is not just about academic achievement; it is about shaping future leaders who will drive innovation and change in the garment industry,” she stated.
Mr. Md.
