In a landmark step toward a sustainable textile industry, IDCOL hosted a high-impact roundtable titled “Accelerating Energy Efficiency in the Textile Sector” on July 10 in Dhaka.

This timely initiative brought together top government officials, IDCOL leadership, C-suite executives from 15+ leading textile manufacturers, global fashion brands, and financial institutions, all united by one mission: mainstreaming energy efficiency in one of Bangladesh’s most vital industries.
IDCOL Executive Director & CEO Mr. Alamgir Morshed opened the session with a bold vision to scale up energy-efficient investments and unlock new project pipelines in the private sector.
Chief Guest Ms. Farzana Momtaz, Secretary, Power Division, emphasized:
“Energy efficiency is no longer just an environmental benefit, it’s an economic necessity.”

The highlight: Launch of a $133 million credit line co-financed by the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and IDCOL, dedicated to boosting energy efficiency in Bangladesh’s textile sector.
