Salauddin Chowdhury, Chairman of Stylish Garments Ltd. and a top industrialist of AC Shilpa Group, has recently been appointed as a Senior Director of the Europe-Bangladesh Federation of Commerce and Industry. Under his leadership, the organization is advancing with a combination of innovative thinking and social welfare initiatives. Maksuda Khan Misha, Managing Director of Stylish Garments Ltd. and also a director of AC Shilpa Group and the Bangladesh-Philippines Chamber, has also taken on the role of Senior Director in the same organization. She has brought a new direction to internal company management, international business communication, and corporate social responsibility.

Stylish Garments Ltd. is currently expanding on an international scale. The company is a member of the International Apparel Federation (IAF) and is actively engaging in agreements, meetings, and online discussions to strengthen its position in the global apparel industry. In a recent virtual meeting, IAF Chairman Salauddin Chowdhury and Managing Director Maksuda Chowdhury Misha discussed critical issues such as tariff policies, global supply chain trends, and product diversification.
They also participated in a virtual conference with IAF Secretary General Matthijs and the Federation’s secretary, where there was a candid discussion about the realities of the global apparel industry and the fair rights of Bangladeshi entrepreneurs. At one point during the discussion, Salauddin Chowdhury stated, “The world says our workers are underpaid. But we say—our entrepreneurs are underpaid too.” He explained that although Bangladeshi garment manufacturers supply products to international markets at relatively low prices, they are often deprived of their rightful earnings due to production costs, banking limitations, logistical complexities, and the revenue structure. In such circumstances, survival becomes difficult for entrepreneurs without international cooperation and support.
Maksuda Chowdhury Misha added, “Our women entrepreneurs face doubles the challenges—managing business responsibilities while meeting family and societal expectations. Still, we are contributing to the country’s development.” During the discussion, IAF leaders listened attentively to the crises and realities faced by Bangladeshi exporters and emphasized the need for joint initiatives to ensure fair pricing in the future. The core message of the conversation was that realistic, practical support from international organizations is essential to ensure fair prices for Bangladeshi entrepreneurs.Salauddin Chowdhury further said, “To bring about this change, we ourselves must unite. We need cooperation, not competition, among us.” Through this statement, he called upon the nation’s entrepreneurs to work together in order to build a stronger foundation for the country’s industries. This virtual discussion was not merely a meeting—it was a bold step toward presenting the true realities of Bangladesh’s apparel industry to the global stage.
