André Lacroix, CEO of Intertek Group plc, a leading Total Quality Assurance provider to industries worldwide, recently met with senior representatives from various exporters’ associations as part of a visit to Dhaka Bangladesh. Mr. Lacroix regularly visits Intertek’s global network of businesses to meet with and to see at first-hand the high-quality work and deep expertise its people deliver day in, day out, for Intertek’s customers. In this first-ever visit by an Intertek CEO to Bangladesh, Mr. Lacroix spoke to Industry leaders about the role Intertek plays in delivering bespoke Total Quality Assurance (TQA) solutions to customers in Bangladesh.
During the visit, he met with the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA), along with the Leather Goods and Footwear Manufacturers and the Exporters Association of Bangladesh (LFMEAB).
Mr. Lacroix discussed some of the opportunities for these industries in a highly competitive global marketplace and the role Intertek plays in addressing consumers’ need for safety and product quality, in order to meet exacting international and domestic regulations. Intertek already supports companies across multiple industries in Bangladesh, delivering end-to-end TQA solutions and managing risk across their complex supply chains.
Ms. Shwapna Bhowmick, Country Manager, M&S; Mr. Syed NasimManzur, Managing Director, Apex Footwear Ltd.; Mr. Shujaat Ali, Country Manager, Target USA; and Mr. Ramanathan Ramaswamy, Country & Clothing Head, Sainsbury’s, were among the business leaders present during the visit.
