intertekIntertek, a leading Total Quality Assurance provider to industries worldwide, has collaborated with OCSiAl’s Health and Safety Department and its European service provider, Envigo, to prove that TUBALL™ single wall carbon nanotubes fully comply with EU REACH requirements.

Intertek was contracted by OCSiAl, the world’s first manufacturer of single wall carbon nanotubes (SWCNT), to work with the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) to provide the required chemical safety data and reports. Intertek scientific and regulatory experts were ultimately responsible for the preparation of the robust REACH registration dossier and the coordination of the phys-chem, tox, and eco-tox testing done with Envigo. The successful registration of TUBALL™ under number 01-2120130006-75-0000 proves that TUBALL™ SWCNT fully comply with REACH requirements, and are now available at industrial volumes. This is a significant milestone for OCSiAl and will increase awareness, within the European market, and the global community, providing a more comprehensive understanding of nanotubes, and nanotube management worldwide.  In addition, this process will support the expansion of mass applications of SWCNT applications in a wide range of industries, including consumable products.

Intertek offers full registration services under REACH.  This includes development of the technical dossier, Chemical Safety Assessment (CSA), exposure scenarios, Persistent, Bioaccumulative and Toxic (PBT) assessments and preparation of extended Safety Data Sheets. Our REACH services are delivered by a dedicated European based team, supported by a global network of experts in risk assessment, toxicology, eco-toxicology and testing.
