An international textile sourcing show has begun in Dhaka to strengthen the country’s global standing in the apparel industry through business-to-business matchmaking.

Commerce Secretary Mahbubur Rahman inaugurated the three-day show, Intex Bangladesh, at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) on Wednesday.
Worldex India is organising the show, backed by leading trade bodies including BGMEA, BKMEA, BGBA, EPB, and international chambers IBCCI, LABCCI, KBCCI, and BGCCI.
Over 125 companies from more than 10 countries are participating in the expo to connect global buyers, suppliers, and manufacturers.
Addressing the programme, Commerce Secretary Mahbubur Rahman said Bangladesh is no longer just a volume player — it is fast emerging as a global hub for sustainable, value-added apparel manufacturing.
“With strategic investment in innovation, compliance, and a skilled workforce, the country is well-positioned to lead the next chapter of responsible fashion and textile sourcing. We believe a platform like Intex Bangladesh will play a major role in achieving our strategic goals while ensuring quality products in a competitive global market,” he said.
Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) Chairman Md Anwar Hossain, alongside senior leaders from BGMEA, BKMEA, and presidents of major bilateral chambers such as LABCCI, KBCCI, and BGCCI, were present on the occasion.
As the world’s second-largest apparel exporter, Bangladesh continues to attract international interest with its high-quality, value-added manufacturing capabilities.
With RMG exports projected to exceed $56 billion by 2026, platforms like Intex play a critical role in fostering partnerships, diversifying supply chains, and showcasing innovation across the textile and apparel ecosystem.
